UP, Ateneo put winning streaks at stake in UAAP men's football

Ian Clarino and the UP Maroons look to score their third straight win in UAAP men's football

Defending champions University of the Philippines put their unbeaten streak to the test when they take on University of Santo Tomas, Sunday mornng at the FEU FERN football field in FEU Diliman.
After a seemingly slow start to UAAP Season 79, the defending champs have found their stride, picking up back-to-back dominant wins agains NU and UE. Guys like King Miyagi and JB Borlongan have stepped up for the Maroons so far as they continue their title defense campaign.
Looking to take the defending champions down will be a UST squad that finally got themselves on the win column after edging out the Red Warriors, Thursday afternoon, courtesy of goals from AJ Pasion and Ian De Castro.
UP and UST go head to head at 3:00 PM.
Also looking to preserve their winning streak is league-leading Ateneo de Manila, the winners of four straight in Season 79. They put their winning streak up against a UE squad looking to get back on track.
The Blue Eagles are a perfect four-for-four this season, with sophomore Jarvey Gayoso, the league's top scorer, leading the way.
After starting the season with a draw, things have gone downhill for the Red Warriors, dropping their next three matches.
Ateneo and UE battle at 1:00 PM.
In the first match of the day, De La Salle University looks to bounce back when they take on Adamson University.
The Green Archers have gotten off to a rocky start in Season 79, with their only win so far sandwiched between an opening day draw against UP and a loss to Ateneo, Thursday.
The Adamson Falcons have struggled so far in Season 79, losing their first two matches via wide margins. They try to get their first win against the Green Archers.
