Lady Spikers look for back-to-back wins
All eyes are set on Ernestine Tiamzon (left) and Kim Dy as De La Salle University look to strike a winning run.

After a big bounce back reigning champion De La Salle University tries to spark a winning roll Wednesday against the listless Adamson Lady Falcons in the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Opening serve is at 4:00 p.m. and the match will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 23 and via livestream.

The Lady Spikers erased its shocking straight sets defeat at the hands of the unbeaten University of the Philippines with a dominating 29-27, 25-16, 25-21, win over the erstwhile undefeated National University last Sunday.

Ernestine Tiamzon and Aduke Ogunsanya provided the scoring punch for the Taft-based squad, scoring 17 and 11 points, respectively, to put DLSU back in the win column.

The Lady Spikers are in a three-way logjam at second to fourth spots with NU and Ateneo de Manila with identical 3-1 win-loss slates behind UP (4-0).

DLSU hopes to build its momentum starting with Adamson, which is struggling to find form, before taking on University of the East on Sunday for the Lady Spikers’ much-anticipated Finals rematch against Ateneo on March 4 to close the first round of eliminations.

The Lady Falcons, meanwhile, remain winless in four starts tied with UE.

Adamson has yet to win a set this season and is coming off a 19-25, 18-25, 13-25, defeat at the hands of Ateneo with former Lady Falcons coach Sherwin Meneses calling the shots while head coach Tai Bundit was in Thailand.

Jema Galanza, Joy Dacoron, Bernadeth Flora and Fatima Joaquin all need to bring their A-game to help Adamson get out of its losing slump.
