UST mauled Adamson 3-0 in UAAP men's football action
If the Adamson Falcons were on cloud nine after upsetting De La Salle over the weekend, University of Santo Tomas quickly brough them back down to earth after a 3-0 drubbing in UAAP men's football action, Thursday afternoon at the Moro Lorenzo Football Field in Ateneo.
The Growling Tigers drew first blood late in the first half, with Dexter Benecio following up on a missed attempt by AJ Pasion in the 32nd minute.
UST continued to pile the points on in the second half, with Jayson Rafol doubling the Tigers advantage in the 66th minute after scoring on a high-arching header from a Darryl Regala free kick.
Marvin Bricenio closed the show in the 79th minute by scoring UST's third and final goal, finishing from a Christian Valderama assist.
With the win, UST improves to two wins and three losses for six points in the season. They temporarily move ahead of De La Salle for the fourth seed.
Adamson on the other hand, drops to one win and three losses for three points, good for sixth in the league.
