FEU, NU square off for hold of solo second spot
National University eyes its third straight victory.

National University and Far Eastern University dispute the solo hold of second spot Saturday in the 79th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The showdown starts at 10:00 a.m. and will air live over ABS-CBN S+A and via livestream.

The Bulldogs and Tamaraws are on a three-way tie at second to fourth spots with University of the Philippines with identical 3-1 win-loss records behind the unbeaten three-peat seeking Ateneo de Manila (5-0).

NU is on a two-game roll after absorbing a four-set loss to the Blue Eagles. The Bulldogs are coming off a 27-29, 25-17, 25-21, 25-19, victory over De La Salle University a week ago.

FEU, on the other hand, wants to start a winning streak after defeating University of the East in a marathon match, 25-21, 21-25, 18-25, 25-18, 15-9 last week.

Meanwhile, the Adamson Falcons shoot for their second straight win against University of Sto. Tomas in the 8:00 a.m. curtain-raiser.

The Falcons snapped a four-game slide last Wednesday with a 26-24, 24-26, 25-20, 28-26, win over DLSU for a 1-4 slate tied with their victim.

The Tigers are at solo fifth spot with a 2-2 mark.

UST dropped a 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 16-25, 8-15 duel with UP last Sunday.
