The Growling Tigers bounced back from a terrible beating in the fourth set to tame the luckless Falcons and improve to 3-2 win-loss record at fifth spot.
Manuel Medina poured 15 attack points and nailed a pair of aces for 17 markers while skipper Arnold Bautista got 14 points for the Espana-based squad, which returned in the win column after losing a five-set marathon over University of the Philippines last week. Jireh Buro and Jayvee Sumagaysay had 12 and 11 markers, respectively, for the Tigers, who survived the match despite giving away 42 free points to the Falcons off their errors.
Adamson failed to get a follow up win after snapping a four-game slide Wednesday with a victory over De La Salle University.
The Falcons dropped to seventh spot with a 1-5 card after another sorry five-set loss. The San Marcelino-based squad lost all of if its three games that went the full distance.
Jerome Sarmiento had 19 points while Paolo Pablico and John Yude chipped in 13 and 10 markers, respectively, in a lost cause for Adamson.
