GOT YOUR BACK. DLSU rallied around the absence of ace scorer Raymark Woo for a much-needed win.
In their first game without ace scorer Raymark Woo in the UAAP 79 Men’s Volleyball Tournament, De La Salle University unearthed gold in many other places.
Arjay Onia tallied 21 points and had three other teammates in double-digits as the Green Spikers topped University of the East in four sets, 25-14, 23-25, 25-21, and 25-21 on Sunday at the San Juan Arena.
Onia got all but two of his points from spikes while Raf Del Pilar and Cris Dumago chimed in 12 points apiece. Levin Dimayuga, starting in place of Woo, added 12 markers of his own.
Rallying from the absence of its ace scorer who is out for three weeks with a left knee injury, DLSU was firing on all cylinders in the first set.
The Red Warriors then battled back in the second set, but the Green Spikers took and never relinquished control en route to only their second win in six games.
Edward Camposano topped the scoring column for UE with 20 points. Those still proved insufficient as they suffered their sixth setback in as many tries.
