Fourth year player Bernadeth Pons is playing the role of Miss Everything for the Far Eastern University in the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament.

The Lady Tamaraws are running on three straight victories all thanks to the open spiker’s all-around performance on the floor.

Pons is playing on a different level, hitting double figures in points, digs and service receptions to tow FEU at third to fourth spots tied with University of the Philippines with 4-2 win-loss record.

The 20-year-old hitter shined the brightest Wednesday when she finished with a triple-double in the Morayta-based squad’s 25-17, 24-26, 25-23, 25-19, victory over the Lady Maroons at The Arena in San Juan.

Pons exploded for 24 points coming off 22 spikes and a pair of kill blocks. She added 23 digs and 14 excellent receptions for an impressive showing.

In their three-game romp, Pons averaged 19.6 points, 20.3 digs and 12.6 excellent receptions.

Head coach Shaq Delos Santos was all praises for Pons.

A role Pons embraced wholeheartedly.

“Nagi-enjoy kasi talaga ako kapag dumedepensa saka rume-receive. “Lalo pa akong nai-inspire kasi sobrang nag-eenjoy ako kapag nasa likod. Pag nakakaputo ako, 'di ba napapa-smile ako? So sobrang saya ko talaga.”

While Pons is delivering well on defense, her offense is the most consistent among the Lady Tamaraws with 17.3 points per outing behind league-leading Jaja Santiago of National University. Her attacks are heavier and can create even from difficult angles.

FEU closes the first round of eliminations on Saturday against University of Sto. Tomas.
