National University is on the hunt to extend its winning romp to five.
National University hopes to end the first round of eliminations on a high note and keep its hold of the solo second spot when the Bulldogs meet a skidding University of the Philippines side Sunday in the 79th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the MOA Arena.
Sitting behind the unbeaten three-peat seeking Ateneo de Manila, NU is on a four-game tear for a 5-1 win-loss record.
The Bulldogs will try to utilize that momentum in the 10:00 a.m. game to add more woes to the Fighting Maroons, who are coming off back-to-back losses.

NU demolished University of Sto. Tomas, 25-23, 25-18, 25-19, last Wednesday behind the efforts of Bryan Bagunas, Fauzi Ismail and Francis Saura. Head coach Dante Alinsunurin will again bank on the trio to deliver another win as the season enters its halfway mark.
After a 3-1 start, UP nosedived to consecutive losses for a 3-3 slate at fourth spot.
The Diliman-based squad is fresh from a 25-27, 17-25, 20-25, defeat at the hands of Far Eastern University four days ago.
Wendel Miguel, Alfred Valbuena and John Mark Millete will need to produce more to snap the Maroons’ drought.
Meanwhile, the struggling Adamson Falcons take on the listless University of the East at 8:00 a.m.
The Falcons are at seventh spot with a 1-5 slate while the Red Warriors remain winless in six games and are on a 34-game losing streak overall.
