DLSU blasts Ateneo to take solo first in women's football

Make it three straight wins for the DLSU Lady Archers.
The hot start for Coach Hans Smit's girls continue, as De La Salle University shot down Ateneo, 3-0, Saturday evening at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, to take the top spot in UAAP Season 79 women's football standings.
Kyra Dimaandal set the tone in the first half, scoring her fourth goal in three matches to put the Lady Archers ahead in the 41st minute.
It was all DLSU in the second half as well, with Nicole Andaya hitting in the 55th mark, while Irish Navaja put the match away with a 69th minute conversion for the 3-0 final tally.
De La Salle improves to three wins in as many matches for nine points in UAAP Season 79, while Ateneo drops to two wins and one loss for six points.
In the earlier match of the afternoon, University of Santo Tomas edged out defending champions University of the Philippines, 1-0.
Hazel Lustan found the back of the net in the 85th minute to seal the win for the Lady Tigresses, and add to the headaches of the Lady Maroons.
With the win, UST improves to two wins and one loss for six points, while UP drops to one draw and three losses for one point.
