Jerome Sarmiento and skipper Michael Sudaria teamed up to provide the offensive spark for Adamson’s second win of the season at the expense of freefalling University of the East Sunday morning at the MOA Arena.
The Falcons closed the opening round of the eliminations with an emphatic 27-25, 25-18, 25-16, victory over the Red Warriors in the 79th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament.
Sarmiento hammered his way to 14 points while Sudaria scored all but one of his 10 markers from attacks as Adamson improved to 2-5 slate.
The win gave then Falcons a springboard to turn their campaign around as the season enters its halfway point.
Dave Pletado got nine points while Karlle Ramirez and John Yude combined for 16 markers for the San Marcelino-based squad that sent UE down to its seventh loss in as many games.
The Red Warriors’ woes continued with UE dropping a total of 35 straight games since Season 77.
Team captain Edward Camposano was the only Red Warrior in double figures with 11 while Samuel Lelic Jr. had eight.
