ROLLER-COASTER. Bernadeth Pons says FEU needs to move forward from their up-and-down first round.
Far Eastern University’s three-game winning streak came to an end at the hands of University of Sto. Tomas last Sunday.
And for ace scorer Bernadeth Pons, there was no doubt that the Lady Tamaraws just were not up to the task against the similarly streaking Golden Tigresses. “Sobrang pangit talaga nung ginawa namin and ang ganda talaga nung laro ng UST,” she expressed.
The four-set loss dropped the girls from Moraya to 4-3 in the standings.
With the loss, they fell back into a tie for the third and fourth spots – still pending the result of the matchup on Sunday between National University and University of the Philippines.
Still, Pons said she was far from satisfied with FEU’s up-and-down play in the first round. “Hindi pa namin nakukuha yung consistency namin. The past three games, ang ganda nang nilaro namin tapos biglang ganito,” she expressed.
She then continued, “Kailangan pa namin talaga maging consistent.”
Also, the fourth-year was quick to admit that she had much work to do. As she put it, “Ako, hindi pa ako satisfied sa nilalaro ko.”
