National University inched closer to formally clinching a Final Four berth.
National University waylaid Adamson University, 25-21, 25-12, 25-19, Wednesday as the Bulldogs stretched their winning run to seven and secured at least a Final Four berth playoff in the 79th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Bryan Bagunas slammed 15 kills to highlight his 18-point outing while Fauzi Ismail and Francis Saura scored 13 and 11, respectively, for the Bulldogs.
NU improved its record to 8-1 behind league-leading and semifinals-bound defending champion Ateneo de Manila.
Saura and Ismail teamed up in front of the net with four kill blocks each in the Bulldogs’ 14 kill blocks.
The Falcons slipped to 2-7 mark after absorbing their second straight defeat and are in danger of ending their season early with another loss.
Michael Sudaria had eight markers, Leo Miranda finished with seven while Dave Pletadon and John Yude combined for 12 points.
