Tigresses aim to get back on the winning track
University of Sto. Tomas wants to bounce back from a setback the last time out when the Tigresses clash with winless Adamson.

University of Sto. Tomas hopes to get back on the winning track when the Tigresses face the also-ran Adamson Lady Falcons Saturday in the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Tigresses, who saw their four-game winning streak snapped the last time out, march into battle at 2:00 p.m. against a squad already eliminated from semifinals contention. The game will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.

UST landed on a four-way tie at 5-4 slate with Far Eastern University, National University and University of the Philippines after the Tigresses yielded in three sets, 10-25, 24-26, 26-28, last Wednesday against league-leading Ateneo de Manila.

The Espana-based squad is itching for a bounce back and is favored to come out on top against a team still searching for its first win of the season.

Adamson is a wreck after nine games and is on a 16-game losing slump since the second round of Season 78.

The Lady Falcons suffered a 9-25, 20-25, 11-25, whipping at the hands of FEU last week and could be looking at a repeat of their 13-25, 12-25, 9-25, loss against UST in the first round if they won’t get their acts together.
