NU scorches Adamson to get back in win column
The NU Bulldogs got back to winning, blasting Adamson, 4-0

The National University Bulldogs were as hot as weather, Thursday afternoon at the Moro Lorenzo Football Field in Ateneo, blazing past the Adamson Falcons, 4-0 to get back to the win column in UAAP Season 79 men's football.

The Bulldogs were in control from the get-go, dictating the pace of the match and keeping the Falcons at bay.

41 minutes in, Adamson's Bless Brian Jumo I managed to send the ball in the back of the net, unfortunately it was on the wrong end of the pitch, giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

It was all NU in the second half, with skipper Patrick Valenzuela converting a goal of his own for the 2-0 advantage in the 56th minute.

Just six minutes later, the Bulldogs struck again, this time courtesy of a Mike Arbela conversion from a Valenzuela assist, pushing the NU advantage to three goals.

With the game pretty much on ice heading into injury time, the Falcons gave NU another chance to score after fouling inside the box, resulting in a Lawrence Colina penalty conversion in the 92nd minute.

"Yung objective is to make the Final Four, so kailangan talaga manalo ng games," NU head coach Mari Aberasturi said after winning their first match in the second round.

Aberasturi also touched on the team's need to defend and make goals saying that their standing on goal difference is something that they need to work on.

"Hindi pa din dapat mag-relax kasi we're still negative two. Yung points, 13 pero yung sa goal difference negative two, so tatrabahuin pa din 'yun."

With the win, NU ties UST with 13 points on four wins, one draw, and five losses.

Adamson remains at the bottom with one win and nine losses for three points.
