Lady Eagles gun to secure Final Four twice-to-beat playoff
Ateneo de Manila attempts to secure at least a Final Four twice-to-beat playoff.

Ateneo de Manila seeks to bounce back from a loss and secure at least a playoff for a Final Four twice-to-beat advantage on Sunday when the Lady Eagles take on the winless Adamson Lady Falcons in the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Big Dome.

Game time is at 2:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.

Tied on top of the standings with defending champion De La Salle University, the Lady Eagles fashion a 9-2 win-loss record.

Ateneo remains at the helm even after having its eight-game winning streak snapped by National University, 25-17, 23-25, 25-22, 21-25, 13-15, last Wednesday.

But against the Lady Falcons, the Katipunan-based squad is favored to rebound from the loss with a deep arsenal of hitters led by Jho Maraguinot, Michelle Morente, Kat Tolentino and Bea De Leon and seasoned setter Jia Morado steering the offense.

Ateneo easily dismantled Adamson, 25-19, 25-18, 25-13, in the first round.

The Lady Falcons are still in search of the elusive win after dropping 11 straight matches.

Adamson absorbed a 25-15, 25-16, 25-20, defeat at the hands of University of the Philippines last week.
