The defending champions De La Salle University Lady Spikers are out to formalize their entry in the Final Four.
Defending champion De La Salle University aims to formalize its entry in the Final Four when the Lady Spikers cross paths with the also-ran University of the East Lady Warriors Saturday in the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Riding the crest of its three-game romp, the Lady Spikers seek to join archrival Ateneo de Manila University in the next round in the scheduled 2:00 p.m. joust to be aired live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.
The Taft-based volleybelles are currently at second spot behind the Lady Eagles (9-2) with an 8-2 win-loss record.
DLSU exacted revenge on its first round tormentors University of the Philippines Lady Maroons, 27-25, 25-11, 25-17, last week to move a styep closer from clinching its ninth straight Final Four appearance.
The Lady Spikers turned back the Lady Warriors, 25-18, 25-14, 25-16, in the first round and are favored against the struggling Recto-based squad.
UE has yet to win a game in the second round.
The Lady Warriors sport a 1-9 slate at seventh spot are coming off a 15-25, 21-25, 25-22, 21-25, loss at the hands of National University last Sunday.
