University of Sto. Tomas hunts for the last semifinals berth in a faceoff with Adamson.
University of Sto. Tomas shoots for the last semifinals spot when the Tigers clash with the Adamson Falcons Sunday in the 79th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Sporting a 6-6 win-loss record, the Espana-based squad is just a win away from joining other Final Four-bound squads three-peat seeking time Ateneo de Manila (13-0), National University (11-1) and Far Eastern University (7-6).
Game time is at 10:00 a.m. airing live on ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.
UST eliminated De La Salle University in the semis race last Wednesday with a 28-30, 25-23, 25-20, 16-25, 15-11 and is looking to make a repeat of its first round win against the Falcons.
A win by the Tigers will shut the semis door for University of the Philippines (5-8).
But Adamson is out to spoil the UST’s attempt to formally enter the semis. The Falcons scored an upset over FEU, 25-23, 23-25, 15-25, 25-20, 17-15, last week.
Meanwhile, NU squares off with the also-ran University of the East (1-11) in the 8:00 a.m. curtain-raiser.
