Battle for fourth seed continues as NU, DLSU, UST seek wins
In the first match of the afternoon NU looks to bounce back and stay in fourth place when they take on UST.

MATCHES ON SUNDAY (Rizal Memorial Stadium)

3:00 PM NU vs. UST (men's)
5:00 PM UP vs. DLSU (men's)

With the second round of the UAAP Season 79 men's football tournament nearing its end, the the race for fourth seed heats up as National University, De La Salle University, and University of Santo Tomas are all in the running, and all of them are in action, Sunday afternoon at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

In the first match of the afternoon NU looks to bounce back and stay in fourth place when they take on UST.

After coming up short in their last outing against La Salle last Thursday, the Bulldogs, who have a slight edge over DLSU for fourth, will look to bounce back and create some distance.

UST on the other hand, are just two points behind NU and a big win could change the playoff picture in their favor. They'll be coming into the match with a bit of confidence after holding second-seeded UP to a draw in their last outing.

NU and UST clash at 3:00 PM.

In the second match of the day, DLSU looks to stay unbeaten in the second round when they take on defending champions UP.

After a dismal first round, the Green Archers have been on a tear in the second round, going unbeaten and avenging losses to the likes of NU and Adamson. Currently a point behind NU for fourth, a big run for DLSU could mean another semis berth.

Having already locked up a playoff sport, all that UP is doing now is, in the words of coach Anto Gonzales, continuing to get better. While they aren't exactly chasing the one-seed, a couple of wins during their remaining games could push the defending kings back to the top of the standings.

DLSU and UP meet at 5:00 PM.
