Adamson University's Jema Galanza and University of the East's Shaya Adorador try to lead their respective teams to victory to end the season.
University of the East and listless Adamson University battle to salvage some sense of pride at the close of their campaign in the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Both teams are at the cellar with the Lady Warriors totting a 1-12 record while the Lady Falcons remain winless in 13 games.
Game time is at 2:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166 and via livestream.
UE has yet to win a match in the second round and is looking to make a repeat of its 25-22, 20-25, 25-17, 25-18, victory over Adamson at the close of the first round a month ago.
With veterans Shaya Adorador, Mary Anne Mendrez, Judith Abil and 6-foot-1 setter Roselle Baliton leading the way, the Lady Warriors have the advantage in firepower compared to a very young Lady Falcons side.
Adorador scored her career-best 23 points against Adamson in their first meeting. She’s expected to produce the same number to help the Lady Warriors recover from an 18-25, 12-25, 10-25 beating UE received from a Jho Maraguiot-less Ateneo de Manila last Sunday.
Adamson, on other hand, is still looking to capture its first win that eluded the Lady Falcons since the start of the second round of last season. They absorbed a 13-25, 14-25, 16-25, loss at the hands of the defending champion and Kim Dy-less De La Salle University last Saturday.
Rookie coach Air Padda must squeeze out more from her skipper Jema Galanza, Joy Dacoron and Bernadette Flora to put an end to their disappointing season.
