Far Eastern University built up its momentum heading into the stepladder semifinals with a quick workout against University of Sto. Tomas, 25-23, 25-18, 25-18, Saturday to close their campaign in the 79th UAAP men’s volleyball tournament eliminations at the Big Dome.

The Morayta-based squad closed the elims with back-to-back victories for an 8-6 win-loss record and will again take on the Tigers in the knockout opening phase of the stepladder semis slated after the Holy Week break.
“Kung titingnan mo sasabihin mo no bearing pero hindi namin siya kinuha ng ganoon,” said FEU coach Rey Diaz. “Talagang naka-mindset ang mga bata na may bearing itong game na ito.”
Three-peat seeking Ateneo de Manila secured an outright spot in the best-of-three Finals after sweeping the elims and sent the semis into a stepladder format where the twice-to-beat National University awaits the winner between UST and FEU for the right to face the Blue Eagles.
The Tigers fell to 6-8 card and dropped its second straight.
No UST player scored in double digits with Jerico Jose tallying only seven points.
