UE ends the season with a three-game winning streak, capped off by a 1-0 win over Adamson University.
University of the East may not be heading into the post season, but they did accomplish something that they haven't done for a couple of years now, and that's put together a three game winning streak.
The Red Warriors managed to pick up their third straight win after gettign past Adamson University, 1-0, Sunday evening at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium, to put a stamp on their UAAP Season 79 men's football campaign.
After a scoreless first half, action picked up in the second half, but it wasn't until the 82nd minute that the scoreboard was altered, when Krysler Opeña gave the Red Warriors the go-ahead goal.
There would be no equalizer for the Soaring Falcons as they dropped their 13th match of the season.
"Yung first eleven ko nung first half, lahat subs, kasi gusto ko na lang talaga makalaro lahat, wala, wala na talagang pressure," said UE head coach Fitch Florence Arboleda, who again maintained that he sent his team out on the pitch to play without pressure, as he did in their last two wins.
The focus shifts now to the future for UE, who finishes with four wins, two draws, and eight losses for 14 points.
"For sure yung players ko, sobrang ready yan for next season, actualy walang mawawala, instead sana may dumagdag." added Arboleda.
Adamson on the other hand, ends their season with a win and thirteen losses for three points.
