"Wala rin akong nireregret. Gusto ko yung ginawa ko, di naman ako tatagal ng limang taon kung di ko gusto ginawa ko." - graduating middle blocker Chloe Cortez in UAAP career
After five seasons donning the black and gold for University of Santo Tomas, outside hitter Pamela Lastimosa bids goodbye to her UAAP career.
And while it came after a heartbreaking four-set loss to De La Salle University in the semifinals of the Season 79 women's volleyball tournament, Lastimosa looks back at her time in the league with nothing but positve takeaways.
"It was one very memorable journey, it didn't make me a good player lang, but it also molded me into a better person and madami akong natutunan talaga, na hindi ko lang magagamit as a player pero magagamit ko rin as a person in real life." said Lastimosa.
As for the younger batch of Tigresses that she and the other seniors will be leaving behind, Lastimosa says that the future is bright.
"I believe in them, sobrang tiwala ko sa kanila, and I know na ma-dodoble pa nila kung ano yung nagawa namin ngayon sa season na 'to."
The same can be said for middle blocker Chlodia Cortez, who also took to the floor as a member of the Golden Tigresses for the final time.
"Di ko alam talaga sasabihin ko, di pa siya fully nagssink in," said Cortez
"Wala rin akong nireregret. Gusto ko yung ginawa ko, di naman ako tatagal ng limang taon kung di ko gusto ginawa ko."
Like Lastimosa, Cortez sees Cherry Rondina, EJ Laure, and the remaining core of Golden Tigresses doing great things in the coming seasons.
"Sobrang malaki potential nila. Tignan niyo yung batch nila EJ. Sobrang alam ko na malayo pa mararating nila."
