Game 1 of the UAAP volleyball Finals will be moved to a later date.
In deference to the country’s hosting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit this week, the league's board decided to move the opening game of the 79th UAAP men’s and women’s volleyball best-of-three Finals to a later date.
From the original date of April 29 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Game 1 will now be on May 2 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Game 2 is on May 6 and will also be at the Big Dome while Game 3, if necessary, is on May 10 also at the Big Dome.
The defending women’s champion De La Salle University takes on Ateneo de Manila University for the sixth straight season.
Three-peat seeking Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles are still waiting for their men’s Finals opponent between National University and Far Eastern University, which will dispute the last championship berth on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The country will host the 30th edition of the summit starting April 26 to 29 and traffic disruption is expected with traffic rerouting implemented in parts of Makati City and Pasay City.
