Ateneo de Manila University welcomes all the help it can get as the Lady Eagles prepare for their bid to reclaim the crown.

Head coach Tai Bundit even called for a group of ‘bekis’ to play with his crew for some tune up games to keep the Katipunan-based squad in top shape as they near the opener of the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament best-of-three series against archrival defending champion De La Salle University on May 2 at the Big Dome.

The opener of the sixth straight Finals installment of the storied rivalry was moved to a later date from its original schedule on Saturday in deference to the country’s hosting of the 2017 SEAN Summit. Game 2 of the series is on May 6 while Game 3, if necessary, is on May 10.

The Lady Spikers last saw action last Saturday when they booted out University of Sto. Tomas while the Lady Eagles showed Far Eastern University the exit door last Sunday.

Ateneo trains twice a day with Bundit infusing the usual conditioning program to prepare the team for the tough battle ahead.

The Lady Eagles had its two-year reign snapped by the Lady Spikers in three games.
