GREENER PASTURES. Inand Fornillos (leftmost) will now don the green and white for CSB-LSGH.
University of Sto. Tomas High School will no longer have its most promising prospect since Kevin Ferrer.
Double-double machine Inand Fornillos has decided to move on from the Tiger Cubs and will now join up with College of St. Benilde-La Salle Greenhills.
The development was first reported by UST’s The Varsitarian.
No less than Fornillos then confirmed the development to ABS-CBN Sports.
Asked for a reason, Fornillos offered no comment.
On the back of the tireless forward who averaged 11.5 points on 55.8 percent shooting together with 10.6 rebounds, UST made its way back into the Final Four a season ago.
And for carrying the Tiger Cubs onto the playoffs all while norming a double-double, Fornillos was recognized as a Mythical selection. There, he stood shoulder to shoulder with the likes of MVP Juan Gomez de Liano, SJ Belangel, John Lloyd Clemente, and Dave Ildefonso.
Along with CJ Cansino, the 18-year-old was seen to be the beacon for the Tiger Cubs’ bright future.
Now, however, Fornillos will instead bolster a Junior Blazer side eyeing to continue its recent run of playoff appearances.
Even with the exit of his one-time running mate, Cansino assured the faithful over at Espana that their team remains on the right track. As he put it, “Hindi po totoong nagkakagulo sa UST. Sa katunayan, mas gumanda pa yung paghahanda namin kahit matagal pa ang UAAP season.”
