SKY TO GROUND. Darrel Menina will add another weapon to NU's ever-growing arsenal.

Darrell Menina will be spreading his wings and taking flight in another school, in another league.

Having left Mapua University last April, the five-foot-eight guard will now take his talents to National University.

“NU na po ako,” he shared with reporters before saying that he is already undergoing residency.

If all goes well, Menina said he will have two years of eligibility in the UAAP. “Sana po, makalaro talaga ako. Gusto ko rin po kasi talaga mag-UAAP,” he expressed.

The last two years, the Cebu native was a key cog in the Cardinals’ back-to-back playoff runs. In Season 93, he averaged 8.9 points and 3.3 assists.

In the summer, however, Mapua head coach Atoy Co revealed that he is no longer with the team.

Fast forward to last Monday and Co said that, last he heard, Menina was already on his way to Sampaloc.

A year from now, the newest Bulldog will join a lineup that will feature Issa Gaye, Enzo Joson, and Jonas Tibayan and welcome John Lloyd Clemente.
