Just like last year, De La Salle University and Far Eastern University look like they are getting too friendly with each other even before the beginning of the UAAP 80 Men’s Basketball Tournament.

According to the Twitter of GoArchers, the Green Archers and the Tamaraws were involved in an in-game scuffle in their matchup in the 2017 Kadayawan Tournament in Davao.

GoArchers reported that FEU had a double-digit lead in the third quarter before Ron Dennison got ejected for incurring two unsportsmanlike fouls.

Providing more details, FEU Athletics tweeted that late in the third quarter, a “melee erupts near FEU bench.” It then furthered that Dennison, RJ Ramirez, and Arvin Tolentino along with DLSU’s Kib Montalbo and Aljun Melecio were thrown out of the game.

The game resumed after that, according to FEU Athletics, but was called off not long after as officials could not contain the intensity between the two teams.

In the end, the game was stopped and was adjudged to be a double forfeiture, as per GoArchers.

A year ago, a tuneup game between the Green Archers and the Tamaraws was also cancelled after players and coaches alike were getting into it with each other.

DLSU and FEU will meet again on September 10 – this time at the MOA Arena and this time in the UAAP Season 80.
