By the Numbers: Blue Eagles take flight
Thirdy Ravena and the Blue Eagles have taken over the UAAP.

Everybody's busy handing trophies already to La Salle that one particular contender has been unfairly forgotten.

However, it's about time to give the Blue Eagles, the other finalist last season by the way, the respect they deserve in 2017.

An actual contender, Ateneo has been on a rather quiet rampage in the first round, winning six straight games to start and will head to its annual rivalry game against the Green Archers undefeated.

It's amazing how the only undefeated team in the field has received little attention. Well, let's start changing that right about now.

96

Number of point scored by the Ateneo Blue Eagles in their win against the NU Bulldogs, most in the Tab Baldwin era.

Big Bad Blue continues to impress this season so far and only rival La Salle stands in the way of a perfect first round.

6

Number of wins so far for Ateneo, no. 1 in the league.

The Blue Eagles are the team we should be talking about, they're basically dominating the entire league.

All wins by Ateneo so far came in double digits. Amazing. How is this team flying under the radar?

12

Number of wins by FEU against UP since the second round of Season 74, the new longest active streak in the league.

After the Tamaraws' impressive 78-59 win over the Fighting Maroons, it can be safe to say that FEU owns this "rivalry" as well.

4

Number of three-point shots made by UP in the loss to FEU.

This is coming from State U's record shooting performance against defending champion La Salle when the Maroons drained 16 triples.

The Law of Averages caught up to UP.

6

Number of categories where UP had a season low against FEU.

The Tamaraws literally gave the Maroons their worst game in Season 80 so far. FEU held UP to a season low in points, field goal percentage, three-point field goals made, two-point field goals made, bench points, and second chance points.
