MY TREAT. With UE's first win, Alvin Pasaol will now be entitled to eat anything and everything he wants.

Alvin Pasaol’s 49 points weren’t enough to beat De La Salle University.

His 32 points, however, proved to be all University of the East needed to down University of Sto. Tomas for their first win.

A confidence boost was all he got for his milestone mark up against the Green Archers three days ago.

This time around, the King Warrior will be receiving a more tangible reward. “Yun nga e, ang reward ni ‘Manong,’ unli-rice ako ngayon. ‘Di niya muna ako pagbabawalan,” he told reporters.

As it turns out, head coach “Manong” Derrick Pumaren had been limiting the rice intake of the hefty Pasaol. “Mabilis din kasi ako tumaba,” the latter shared while laughing.

After granting his team a much-wanted, long-awaited first win, however, he will be entitled to eat anything and everything he wants. Asked what he will pair the unli-rice with, he answered, “Siguro, madami. Kahit ano, kakainin ko.”

That doesn’t mean, however, that he will be making the rounds in buffets sometime soon – not in Sambokojin, not in Vikings, not in Cabalen.

And that also goes for his nickname.

While he has a buffet to choose from, Pasaol said he likes what ABS-CBN Sports panelist Mico Halili called him the best. “Yung ‘Human Heat Check’ na lang kaysa iba,” he said through chuckles.

Whatever he’s called, the 23-year-old said he’s nothing but glad that enjoying unli-rice, even for just one night, will help him maintain his playing weight. “Ito talaga yung playing weight ko. Mas nag-expand talaga ako ng katawan compared sa last season na sobrang payat ko,” he shared.

He then continued, “’Di naman bagay sa akin yung payat kasi more of stretch 4 ang laro ko. Kaya nagpalaki talaga ako ng katawan.”

Meaning that no, Pasaol is not overweight. From playing at 176 lbs a season ago, he is now packing a full 198 lbs. “Mas kumportable ako ngayon sa katawan kasi stretch 4 nga ako, pero kaya pa ring makipagbanggaan sa loob,” he said.

Along with his playing weight, UE’s main man said he knows full well that there are many areas of his game he can improve. “More aggressiveness, more hustle pa,” he expressed.
