Defending champion National University stayed perfect while University of Sto. Tomas and University of the East clinched semifinals berths in the UAAP Season 80 Women's Basketball Tournament on Wednesday in two separate venues.

The Lady Bulldogs overwhelmed De La Salle University, 91-56, for their 10th straight win while the Tigresses solidified their hold of second place with a 67-50 dismantling of Ateneo de Manila University at the MOA Arena.

The Lady Warriors, on the other hand, tripped the University of the Philippines, 50-36, at the Blue Eagle Gym.

UST improved to 9-2, while UE, still unbeaten in the second round, raised its record to 8-2. The two teams are separated by half-a-game in the race for the twice-to-beat semifinals bonus.

Far Eastern University subdued Adamson University, 66-60, in the other game at the Katipunan venue to boost its own semis bid.

The Lady Tamaraws evened their slate at 5-5, now ahead by one-and-a-half game over the Lady Falcons who stumbled to their seventh loss in 10 contests.

Ria Nabalan flirted with a triple-double with 13 points, nine rebounds and eight assists while Congo's Rhena Itesi (12 points, 14 boards) and Jack Danielle Animam (12 points, 13 rebounds) again delivered double-double efforts for NU.

Jem Angeles paced the Tigresses with 22 points while Sai Larosa added 15 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

Love Sto. Domingo had 19 points and seven rebounds as the Lady Warriors held the Lady Maroons to 11 first half points in the win.

Isabel Balleser shone for FEU with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
