Legendary FEU coach Kid Santos passes away

Far Eastern University lost a volleyball icon after legendary coach Florentino ‘Kid’ Santos passed away early Wednesday.
Legendary Far Eastern University volleyball coach Florentino ‘Kid’ Santos passed away Wednesday morning due to cardiac arrest.
He was 67.
Santos, as a player, gave the Morayta-based squad numerous titles, and continued to do so as a mentor in both FEU’s men’s and women’s teams. He played a big role in the school’s total of 54 championships in both divisions and steered FEU to 19 of its 29 women’s crowns.
He handled the national team numerous times and was mentor to some of today’s best collegiate coaches including Ramil De Jesus of De La Salle University, Nes Pamilar, Shaq delos Santos and current FEU women’s team tactician George Pascua.
His son, Fritz Michael, is currently an assistant coach of the Arellano Lady Chiefs and the men’s national team.
