Racela says FEU's 42 attempts from deep
"We fell in love with the three-point shot. 42 attempts is way too many," Racela said Wednesday after the Tamaraws dropped a sorry 84-87 decision to National University, putting their Final Four hopes for UAAP Season 80 in serious jeopardy.

Far Eastern University head coach Olsen Racela is not looking a his team's 18 three-point shots made which is a UAAP league record.

No, coach Olsen is not having any of that mainly because his Tamaraws let another crucial win slip away.

The rookie mentor is looking at FEU's 42 attempts from beyond the arc which is one too many for his liking.

"We fell in love with the three-point shot. Forty-two attempts is way too many," Racela said Wednesday after the Tamaraws dropped a sorry 84-87 decision to National University, putting their Final Four hopes for UAAP Season 80 in serious jeopardy.

"I told [the players] at the half na defense will win it for us pero hindi yun ang nangyari in the second half. Masyado kami nag-rely on offense eh," Racela added.

At 6-7, the Tamaraws, UAAP champions just two seasons ago, are in a tight three-way race for the last playoff spot.

However, a victory over the Bulldogs could have made things rather easy for NU. That's not the case anymore.

"Ayun, we were up and we let it slip away. Papahirapan pa namin sarili namin, we have to win our game against Adamson," Racela said.
