ONE TRACK MIND. Arvin Tolentino and FEU aren't satisfied with a playoff berth.

Far Eastern University, after an up-and-down-and-up-and-down season, is in the Final Four.

And they announced their arrival there with a convincing 71-54 victory against third-seed Adamson University.

With a possibility of having to go through a playoff for the fourth-seed hanging over their heads coming into the contest, the Tamaraws can now rest easy. “We’re happy. Masaya kami sa laro namin kasi na-achieve na namin yung, kumbaga, minor goal namin na Final Four,” Arvin Tolentino said.

However, they remain far from contented with entering the playoffs and effectively extinguishing the hopes of fellow hopeful University of the Philippines. “We can’t really celebrate yet kasi meron pa kaming semifinals. Tapos ang goal din namin, mapunta sa Finals,” Tolentino said.

Making that happen is a tall task for the boys from Morayta with unbeated Ateneo de Manila University and defending champion De La Salle University currently claiming the top two spots.

However, throughout the tournament, they have overcome a 1-2 start, a 1-4 run at the midway mark, and several squandered chances to claim an outright playoff berth.

That is where the confidence comes from for FEU. “I have to hand it to my players. They never gave up, they never wavered sa kagustuhang mag-Final Four,” head coach Olsen Racela shared.

He then continued, “We had so many chances na nawala, but I have to hand it to my players. Talagang buong-buo yung puso nilang makapasok sa Final Four.”

And the Tamaraws have even more confidence now they have sent a statement to one of the playoff teams. “For me, this is one of the best games we played more like brothers and we stuck to the system. I feel like if we bring (more of this) going into the Final Four, we’re gonna do better,” Prince Orizu said.
