NOW WE'LL KNOW.
Games on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum
12:00 PM – UST vs UE
4:00 PM – DLSU vs Ateneo
Just one obstacle remains in Ateneo de Manila University’s sweep of the elimination round and automatic advance into the Finals of the 80th Season of the UAAP Men’s Basketball.
However, that obstacle is defending champion and archrival De La Salle University.
The Green Archers finally get another shot to take down the undefeated Blue Eagles on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
Ateneo (13-0) goes for an elimination round sweep at the expense of DLSU (11-2) in a game with implications not only for the two of them, but also for the rest of the league. All of the action will be on S+A, S+A HD, and livestream.
A win for the kids from Katipunan will grant them an outright berth into the championship round and will force stepladder playoffs among the Green Archers, third-seed Adamson University, and fourth-seed Far Eastern University.
A win for the Taft-based team, however, will ensure that a Final Four will be taking place.
If so, the Blue Eagles will be the top-seed and will have twice-to-beat advantage against the Tamaraws while the defending champions will be the second-seed and will also have twice-to-beat advantage against the Soaring Falcons.
In the day’s other game at 12:00 PM, University of Sto. Tomas will go all-out to avoid a winless season when it takes on University of the East.
