Nothing stopping DLSU’s Mbala from being back-to-back MVP
UNDISPUTED. For the second straight season, DLSU's Ben Mbala has been on a level above everybody else.

He has played in two less games, but Ben Mbala is still, far and away, the top individual player in the UAAP 80 Men’s Basketball Tournament.

De La Salle University’s monster numbers prove that as his per game counts of 26 points in 52 percent shooting, 13.1 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 steals has led to 96.58 Statistical Points (SPs) in the race for MVP.

Also helping his cause is how he has powered the Green Archers to a 12-2 finish in the elimination round.

Those are, without a doubt, more than enough to win for him his second straight MVP.

Mbala has 30 SPs more than his closest competitor.

This, even though the Cameroonian powerhouse missed the first two games of the season as he fulfilled his duties for his national team.

Poised to flank Mbala in the Mythical Team are Ateneo de Manila University’s Thirdy Ravena who placed second in the MVP race with 66.50 SPs and National University’s J-Jay Alejandro who ranked third with 63.86 SPs.

Rounding out the top five individual players are University of the East’s Alvin Pasaol (63.43 SPs) and Adamson's Papi Sarr (63.15 SPs).
