Baby Tams, three other teams try to start streaks

Games on Saturday at the Filoil Flying V Centre

10:00 AM – Adamson vs UST

12:00 PM – DLSZ vs NU

2:00 PM – UPIS vs Ateneo

4:00 PM – UE vs FEU-Diliman

Defending champion Far Eastern University-Diliman and top challenger Ateneo de Manila High School are headed toward a head-on collision in the UAAP 80 Juniors Basketball Tournament.

Before that happens, however, they two teams will first have to take care of business against separate opponents on Saturday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

L-Jay Gonzales and the Baby Tamaraws go for back-to-back wins to begin their title defense at the expense of revamped University of the East at 4:00 PM.

Also looking for a second straight win are SJ Belangel, Kai Sotto, and the Blue Eaglets who are pitted against neighboring University of the Philippines Integrated School at 2:00 PM.

A week from those assignments, FEU-Diliman will wage war anew with Ateneo.

For now, though, those two teams aren’t the only playoff hopefuls seeking to go streaking.

Nazareth School of National University looks to build on its dominant season-opening win when it takes on young and hungry De La Salle Zobel at 12:00 PM.

Meanwhile, University of Sto. Tomas is also hoping that it can sustain its strong start to the season when it does battle with new-look Adamson High School at 10:00 AM.
