NU Bullpups turn in impressive debut in UAAP juniors football
Newcomers National University made an immediate statement in the UAAP Season 80 juniors football tournament.
National University had a winning debut in UAAP Season 80 juniors football, as it conquered last year's runner-up De La Salle-Zobel, 3-2, Saturday at the PFF National Training Centre inside the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, Cavite.
Picking up from where they left off in off-season leagues, the Bullpups delivered an early statement that they can contend even as newcomers.
Also making an impressive start is University of Santo Tomas, which defeated Ateneo, 2-1, in the day's other match.
Defending champion Far Eastern University-Diliman drew an opening day bye. The Baby Tamaraws will launch their bid against the Blue Eaglets on Sunday, November 26th at the same Carmona pitch.
The rematch of last season's Finals between FEU-Diliman and De La Salle-Zobel is set for Sunday, December 3rd at the PFF National Training Centre.
Except for three matchdays in the first round, the rest of the matches will be played at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
