The most intense rivalry from a year ago will be rekindled now in the UAAP 80 Juniors Basketball Tournament.

SJ Belangel, Kai Sotto, and Ateneo de Manila High School take on their toughest test yet up against L-Jay Gonzales and defending champion Far Eastern University-Diliman on Sunday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

The rematch of last year’s most competitive semifinals matchup tips off at 9:00 AM.

A year ago, the Blue Eaglets and the Baby Tamaraws faced off a total of five times with the latter ultimately prevailing, 3-2.

FEU-Diliman then rode that momentum all the way to the championship. They stand at 2-0 early in this season.

Stacked Ateneo is again seen as one of the contenders and finally get a chance to prove themselves after back-to-back wins at the expense of lowly squads.

The other two undefeated teams in the tournament also duke it out when Nazareth School of National University tangles with University of Sto. Tomas at 1:00 PM.

Meanwhile, disputing their first wins in the season are Adamson High School and De La Salle Zobel at 11:00 AM as well as University of the Philippines Integrated School and University of the East at 3:00 PM.
