The UAAP forwarded a few reminders for both Ateneo and DLSU right before tip-off of Game 2 of the Finals.

The UAAP is hopeful that Game 2 of the Season 80 Finals between Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University would go as smoothly as possible.

“I’m actually appealing to all, including players, coaches, athletic directors, and spectators for a trouble-free Game 2,” league executive director Atty. Rebo Saguisag said before the second meeting of the archrivals in the best-of-three Finals on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

This, coming after reports that Saguisag summoned a few Green Archers to get their sides on viral videos showing their extra-curricular activity against some Blue Eagles.

According to a report of Matthew Li of Tiebreaker Times, the executive director will meet with DLSU’s Aljun Melecio, Ricci Rivero, and Abu Tratter right before tip-off of Game 2.

Videos had shown Melecio pinching the side of Anton Asistio, Rivero throwing a closed fist to the right thigh of Vince Tolentino, and Tratter taking a low swing while trying to take the ball from a grounded Isaac Go.

All three incidents happened in Game 1.

Along with the summons, Saguisag released a memo on “Sportsmanship and Positive Participatory Experience.”

There, he detailed that players should “serve as exceptional representatives of their teams and their institutions.”

He also urged coaches to “educate players about the importance of ethical behavior and being positive role models.”
