Ateneo supporter apologizes for obscene gesture during game
"I deeply regret and sincerely apologize from the hear for my unacceptable behavior and gesture of pointing a dirty finger at some La Salle players and the De La Salle bench during Game 2 of the Finals yesterday."

An Ateneo supporter came forward and owned up to his actions and apologized after a photo of him flipping DLSU players off during game two of the UAAP Finals went viral.

According to Chot Kabigting, who sent out an apology to the Ateneo and DLSU communities via social media, 'the intensity of the game' got to him, leading him to raise his middle finger at DLSU fans at the Araneta Coliseum, Wednesday.

The intensity of an Ateneo-DLSU rivalry is a constant whenever the two teams meet. When it's in the UAAP Finals, that intensity is, as expected, magnified.

Game two was a prime example.

Ateneo saw their early 21-point lead evaporate, as DLSU took control late to eventually take game two and force a UAAP Finals deciding third game this coming Sunday.

Late in the game, things tensions began to escalate when fans began to throw foreign objects, such as a watter bottle and a coin, on to the playing court.

This resulted in fans from both schools jawing at each other and some even throwing up obscene gestures, including Kabigting, who was photographed giving opposing fans and players the middle finger.

As expected, the photo went viral on various social media platforms and drew the ire of netizens.

"I am the man in the photos of the Ateneo crowd in Game 2 of the Finals yesterday." Kabigting admitted in his apology.

"I deeply regret and sincerely apologize from the hear for my unacceptable behavior and gesture of pointing a dirty finger at some La Salle players and the De La Salle bench during Game 2 of the Finals yesterday." Kabigting continued.

While he did apologize for the obscene gesture, Kabigting said that it wasn't him who threw the plastic bottle on to the court.

Ateneo and DLSU meet one final time this season in a UAAP championship-deciding third game on Sunday, December 3rd at the Araneta Coliseum.
