NU Pep reaches for history, UP Pep returns in UAAP Cheerdance Competition
Will the NU Pep Squad be able to stand alongside the dynastic UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe of the '00s?
The NU Pep Squad has a golden opportunity to do something that has only been done once in the history of the UAAP Cheerdance Competition.
NU goes for great and goes for gold in the 2017 edition of the event on Saturday at the MOA Arena.
The Sampaloc-based squad tries for history even as the UP Pep Squad comes back to the competition commencing at 2:00 PM. One of the most anticipated events in the UAAP calendar will be broadcast LIVE on ABS-CBN S+A and ABS-CBN S+A HD as well as on LIVESTREAM.
NU won its fourth title a year ago behind a routine that was, far and away, tops in the tournament. With that, they put themselves in perfect position to match a record-tying five-peat – something that has only been done by the dynastic UST crews of the ‘00s.
To do just that, the NU Pep Squad will have to open the 2017 edition of the event with a bang as the first performers to hit the floor.
Unlike last season, however, the Bulldogs will again have to contend with State U’s pride – the winningest squad in the history of the UAAP CDC.
UP Pep skipped the contest a year ago, but are nothing but ready and raring to put on a show once again as the sixth squad to perform.
Sandwiched between NU and UP in the order are the DLSU Animo Squad at number two, Adamson Pep Squad at number three, FEU Cheering Squad at number four, and UE Pep Squad at number five.
Bringing up the rear are the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe who will take the floor seventh and the Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion who will take the floor last.
