UAAP Finals: Expect to see Ayo, Mbala back for Season 81
"Wala pa akong experience na pangatlong season. Fresh for me, bago sa akin yun. Di ko alam kung ano ang meron." -- Aldin Ayo on De La Salle.

Aldin Ayo said it himself, his coaching career has a pattern.

Whether it's by mere coincidence or not, Ayo always wins a title in his first season and then settles for second place the next year.

That proved true again with his stint with De La Salle University so far.

And with his rumored move to University of Santo Tomas highly unlikely, Ayo now enters new territory with a third season with the Green Archers.

"I've lost many times. Natatawa ako eh because of the pattern. I always win in my first season and I'm always first runner-up sa second season ko. Filoil, Davao, even in the province," Ayo said after his Archers lost the UAAP Season 80 Finals to the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

"Pero wala pa akong experience na pangatlong season. Fresh for me, bago sa akin yun. Di ko alam kung ano ang meron," he added.

New territory does not mean new goals for Ayo and the Archers though.

The theme for Season 81 is going to be the same and that is to win the UAAP title.

The same set of characters will return as well for Team Taft.

"Of course, we want to bounce back next year. Pero we have to ayusin yung approach namin sa preparation namin," coach Aldin said.

"He still has one year," Ayo added talking about two-time MVP Ben Mbala. "Based on the ground rules of the UAAP, Ben still has one more year in the UAAP. He’ll be here next year."
