Aldin Ayo is not yet thinking about his next move
Aldin Ayo is staying in De La Salle University – for the remainder of his four-month contract, at the very least.
Ayo’s contract running from September to December of this year as head coach of the Green Archers is yet to be renewed.
Whatever his next step is, the one-time NCAA champion coach and one-time UAAP champion coach is yet to decide on it.
And as of right now, after he and the Taft-based team were defeated by archrival Ateneo de Manila University in the Finals, Ayo does not want to talk about his future. “Ako, iniisip ko lang ngayon, yung laro muna at yung team na ‘to. Ayoko muna ng mga ganyan,” he told reporters.
That includes rumors that he is set to take over for the recently-deposed Boy Sablan in University of Sto. Tomas. “I don’t want to comment on that,” he expressed.
Ayo made it clear, though, that he also had close ties to the Espana-based school. “Actually, I have lots of friends in UST. Yung pari na nagdala sa akin dito sa Manila, he’s in UST tapos yung adviser ko sa thesis ko, he’s also in UST,” he said.
He then continued, “There are lots of priests and friends ko na alumni.”
He was also quick to clarify, however, “Pero regarding dun, I don’t want to comment on that.”
In the end, as of right now, at the very least, Ayo’s next step and UST’s new coach are yet to be determined.
