Jema Galanza is back after recovering from a right ankle injury.
Adamson University top hitter Jema Galanza will be joining the Lady Falcons’ training in a week’s time after recovering from a harrowing right ankle injury she sustained three months ago.
The Queen Falcon got the green light to practice with her team as Adamson prepares for the 80th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament set to open early next year.
Galanza, who is playing her final eligibility year, was sidelined three months ago after injuring her ankle during the Lady Falcon’s campaign in the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference.
The open hitter dislocated her ankle after stepping on College of St. Benilde’s Felcia Cui early in the third set of Adamson’s straight sets win against the Lady Blazers in the group stage.
Galanza was immediately rushed to Cardinal Santos Medical Center. Fortunately, exams on her ankle showed no signs of bone fracture or ligament tear.
With Galanza expected to be 100% come Season 80 and with the return of setter Fenela Emnas, veteran Mylene Paat and the addition of former De La Salle University volleybelle Eli Soyud, the future looks bright for Adamson after a forgettable campaign last year. Adamson sets its eyes on ending a four-year Final Four drought.
The Lady Falcons made great strides during the off season as they finished fourth in the PVL Collegiate Conference and made a decent run against club teams in the PVL Open Conference.
