Eaglets rekindle rivalry with defending champion Baby Tams
It's another heavyweight bout on gameday Saturday with league-leading Ateneo taking on defending champion FEU-Diliman

A year ago, Far Eastern University-Diliman rode the momentum from winning its epic series against Ateneo de Manila High School all the way to a championship.

Now in the 80th Season of the UAAP Juniors Basketball Tournament, the two teams are on a collision course for another playoff showdown.

Before that happens, both the Blue Eaglets and the Baby Tamaraws are seeking more momentum iin the elimination round as they take on each another on Saturday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Ateneo is undefeated after nine games and have three players in the top five in terms of Statistical Points in towering teen Kai Sotto, floor leader SJ Belangel, and versatile Dave Ildefonso.

That’s not fazing the 5-4 defending champions, however, especially with L-Jay Gonzales and RJ Abarrientos continuing to lead the way in the crucial contest tipping off at 9:00 AM.

Another clash of the titans commences at 11:00 AM when second-running Nazareth School of National University goes at it with third-running University of Sto. Tomas.

Rhayyan Amsali and the rest of the Bullpups stand at the second spot with a 7-2 record and will be challenged by MVP leader CJ Cansino and his Tiger Cubs who are on a two-game slide that dropped their standing to 5-4.

In the day’s other games, 4-5 Adamson High School matches up with 1-8 University of the East at 1:00 PM while 3-6 De La Salle Zobel matches up with 2-7 University of the Philippines Integrated School at 3:00 PM.
