Vargas injured, to miss FEU's first round campaign
Rosemarie Vargas could miss Far Eastern Univerty's first round campaign after sustaining a muscle strain.

Far Eastern University’s campaign in the 80th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament suffered a major blow after returning hitter Rosemarie Vargas sustained a muscle strain.

In a tweet posted by @LadyTamaraws on Monday, the 25-year old player, who was supposed to make a comeback this season after five years of absence, won’t be able to suit up for the Morayta-based squad at least for the whole first round.

ABS-CBN Sports tried to contact Lady Tams head coach George Pascua regarding Vargas' condition but was unavailable as of posting.

Vargas last played for FEU back in Season 75.

Her veteran presence is expected to boost the Lady Tams, who are in a long title-drought after winning it all in 2008, bannered by graduating hitter Bernadeth Pons, Toni Basas and Jerrili Malabanan.

FEU will open the season against Ateneo de Manila University on February 4 at the MOA Arena.
