ABS-CBN Sports tried to contact Lady Tams head coach George Pascua regarding Vargas' condition but was unavailable as of posting.
Vargas last played for FEU back in Season 75.
Her veteran presence is expected to boost the Lady Tams, who are in a long title-drought after winning it all in 2008, bannered by graduating hitter Bernadeth Pons, Toni Basas and Jerrili Malabanan.
FEU will open the season against Ateneo de Manila University on February 4 at the MOA Arena.
