UAAP 80 softball: Lady Falcons, Tigresses score wins ahead of Finals rematch

Defending champion Adamson University and University of Santo Tomas, priming up for this weekend's rematch of last year's Finals, posted contrasting victories Thursday in the UAAP Season 80 softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
The Lady Falcons pulled off an abbriviated 9-0 win over Ateneo, while the Tigresses edged University of the East, 2-1, in extra innings to stay unbeaten.
Extending their perfect run to three games, Adamson University and UST clash at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Sheila Perales scored the winning run from a Janah Hernandez RBI to help the Tigresses survive.
After a scoreless eight innings, the Lady Warriors entered the scoreboard after Lourdes Blanco sent Mary Joy Catacutan home.
Tin Palma scored an RBI on her own, sending Lealyn Guevarra home for the Tigresses to level at 1-1 in the bottom ninth.
National University ended a two-game slide following a 9-2 conquest of De La Salle.
The Lady Batters slipped at 1-3, while the Lady Eagles stayed at the bottom at 0-4.
In yesterday's baseball action, defending champion Ateneo scored its second straight abbriviated win, a 11-0 rout of NU.
De La Salle also improved to 2-0 following a 13-7 romp of UST, while Adamson University entered the win column with a 8-5 decision of UP.
The Falcons tied the Growling Tigers at 1-1, while the Bulldogs and the Fighting Maroons fell at 0-2.
