UAAP VOLLEYBALL: FEU wants share of lead, win no. 2
Far Eastern University sets its sights on second straight win and a share of the lead.

Far Eastern University coach George Pascua wants his wards to ride the momentum of their opening day win when they meet an equally dangerous Adamson University side Saturday in the 80th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Lady Tams outlasted Ateneo de Manila University, 19-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-20, 15-9, for the first time after five seasons last week behind the 14 points each of graduating hitter Bernadeth Pons and Toni Basas.

“Sa amin it’s ano ‘to pampa-high morale sa mga players kasi knowing Ateneo ang tinalo namin,” said Pascua, who will try to lead his team to its second straight win for a share of the lead with idle National University.
Game time is at 2:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA on SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD on SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

The Lady Falcons, on the other hand, are looking to bounce back from a 15-25, 23-25, 25-16, 13-25, defeat at the hands of NU.

Returning veteran Mylene Paat and rookie Chiara Permentilla scored in double figures last game, but will need to get more support from Eli Soyud, Joy Dacoron and graduating hitter Jema Galanza.

The trio combined for only 22 points the last time out.
