UAAP VOLLEYBALL: Inspired FEU seeks second straight win
Far Eastern University hopes to bring the momentum of their big win over Ateneo de Manila University in its season-opener against Adamson University Saturday.

Far Eastern University hopes to take advantage of its huge morale-boosting opening day win when the Tamaraws face Adamson University Saturday in the UAAP Season 80 men’s volleyball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Tams are coming off a shocking 25-18, 25-19, 25-22, victory over three-time defending champion Ateneo de Manila University, which saw its 30-game winning streak snapped, last Sunday that ended FEU’s losing slump to the Blue Eagles since Season 76.

FEU will try to join solo leader University of Sto. Tomas as it marches into center court at 8:00 a.m.

The match will air live on LIGA on SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD on SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

The rebuilding Falcons bowed down to National University in their opening game 23, 25, 19-25, 20-25, a week ago.

But FEU coach Rey Diaz is not taking Adamson lightly.

“Lahat ng team ngayon nagbago, ang gagaling. Sabi nga ni coach Kid (Santos) walang titigil hangga’t di pa tapos ang laban,” said Diaz, who will pin his hopes on John Paul Bugaoan, Jude Garcia and Richard Solis.

Meanwhile, University of the Philippines is also on the hunt for a second straight win and a share of the lead.

The Fighting Maroons will take on De La Salle University at 10:00 a.m. in a duel airing will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA on SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD on SkyCable Channel 183 and via livestream.

UP swept University of the East, 25-22, 25-15, 25-13, while the Green Spikers fell short of an upset attempt on UST, 21-25, 16-25, 25-15, 25-23, 14-16.
