Graduating Adamson University hitter Jema Galanza announced her return with a monster game against powerhouse squad Far Eastern University.
Although it took her two games to find her old form, Galanza was just glad that she was able to contribute for the Lady Falcons months after sustaining a harrowing right ankle injury.
The fifth open spiker dropped 26 points in Adamson U’s 25-23, 19-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-12, victory Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Her explosion came a game after a quiet six-point outing in the Lady Falcons four-set loss to National University.
“Kasi, siyempre iniisip ko last playing year ko na ‘to so bakit parang ganun nilaro ko nung first game,” said Galanza, who pounded 25 attack points.
Galanza, who dislocated her ankle four months ago during Adamson’s stint in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference, was also active on defense with 17 excellent receptions and 15 digs.
The win put Adamson in a three-way tie with their victim and University of Sto. Tomas. It was also the Lady Falcons’ first win over FEU since the first round of Season 78.
